2D3D Geometric Solids
Our Edx Education® 2D3D Geometric Solids are a great hands on way for children to explore 2D shapes and 3D solids, surface area and volume. Colourful and tactile, the geometric shapes make an ideal visual aid for young learners starting to identify with geometric concepts.
The 12 transparent solid shapes are easy for young children to hold, developing their fine motor skills as they learn if different shapes can be stacked, sorted or used to create a pattern. Talk to your child about the shapes to develop and encourage their mathematical language. Fill the shapes with different liquids or sensory materials for a hands on way to learn about volume. Use a dry marker pen to measure quantities.
The 12 x 2D folding nets are a great visual way to demonstrate how 3D geometric shapes are formed and to measure surface area.
