As we embark on our journey towards full sustainability at Edx Education, we are thrilled to present the STEAM Whale Story Counter Set and Sustainable Play Book, a proud addition to our new sustainable toys Green-n-Learn™ play range.
This remarkable initiative has been inspired by our collaboration with the KuroShio Ocean Oasis project, our dedicated charitable partner. For more information on our charitable efforts, please visit the "About Us" section under "Educational Outreach – Education for All."
The KuroShio Ocean Oasis Project
Hailing from our brand's home country of Taiwan, the KuroShio Ocean Oasis project is an ocean conservation charity committed to cleansing the seas of pollutants, notably single-use plastics.
They also play a pivotal role in educating local communities about the importance of preserving their aquatic environment, with the ultimate goal of establishing a secure conservation area for whales and dolphins to flourish. Edx Education proudly supports the KuroShio Ocean Oasis project as part of our plastic-free initiatives.
We not only provide financial support but also collaborate closely with the charity to educate local factories on reducing plastic waste and adopting more sustainable manufacturing practices and materials when creating our sustainable toys. Additionally, our employees and partners regularly join the charity in eco-projects, such as cleaning Taiwan's beaches and oceans of waste.
The Whale Story Counter Set
The Whale Counters Story Set includes a Sustainable Play Book, printed using soy-based dyes on FSC certified paper. This book is accompanied by a set of 36 sustainable toy whale counters in three vibrant colours, all crafted from high-grade recycled plastic sourced from milk bottles. The entire sustainable play set is meticulously packaged in FSC-certified materials, which are also printed with soy-based dyes, ensuring that every component is fully recyclable.
This beautifully illustrated handbook, inspired by the KuroShio Ocean Oasis project, is designed to engage children in an educational journey. It delves into the consequences of single-use plastics on our ocean's fragile ecosystem, aiming to instil sustainability values in children from an early age, nurturing a planet-friendly future.
The Sustainable Play Book is predominantly image-driven, featuring easily comprehensible concepts that allow parents to convey important messages in age-appropriate language. Furthermore, the absence of written words enables the book to seamlessly adapt to various play ideas and language preferences, reducing global waste.
Children will adore the simple sustainable toy whale counters, perfect for imaginative play and early math activities like counting, sorting, and categorising. These counters are also designed to enhance fine motor skills through balancing and stacking activities, further augmenting their educational potential.
Our Eco Strategy
Edx Education's Sustainable Products Initiative outlines our commitment to sustainability, including the UK launch of our eco friendly toy favourites in the Green-n-Learn™ and Green-n-Play™ ranges in 2023.
